I was sitting in a cafe, wearing a pig hat. In front of me: the LARGEST sandwich available, and a tall glass of milk.
Not tea. Whole milk!
Because the piggy on my head told me to. But now I have to back up.
Cue subtitle card:
Last month….at the February Rally (Rally!)
Fade out.
So I was at Rally.
I was sitting in a nest of cushions, doing some negotiating — and also some coloring — with a very emphatic monster who had strong opinions about financial stuff. Specifically related to the business expansion and the new, much-bigger Playground.
This monster had a lot to say about how Wanting Too Much leads to danger and DOOM.
And the monster kept throwing in my face words that other people have said. Words that implied-hinted-indicated that these people think I want too much.
The monster reminded me: When I started this new giant expansion project, someone called me a greedy little piggy. In the middle of a meeting.
As if this was a completely normal thing to say. The guy even said it with warmth, with a twinkle in his eye.
“Well, aren’t you just a greedy little piggy!”
No one else at the meeting acted like it was a weird thing to say, so I ignored it and we continued the meeting.
But when the monster brought it up, he knew it would hurt. And it did. So I removed myself to the refueling station where I could interact with my stuff from a safe room.
Translations. Me, to myself:
Okay, sweetie. Here’s what we’re going to do. Let’s drop whatever internal rules or assumptions say that this was a mean judgment on me.
I mean, it might have been. Theoretically. It totally could be. But what if it wasn’t? Can we at least find out?
I want to be curious about all the ways that being a greedy little piggy is a neutral thing or not a negative thing, or maybe even a compliment. Even if, yes, it happens to be phrased in words that I personally don’t like.
Let’s get metaphor mouse to help with the translating.
Current personal associations or definitions that have to do with this phrase.
What do I (just me, not anyone else) think of when I think of someone who is a Greedy Little Piggy?
Wanting. Doing anything to get the thing that’s wanted. Conniving, even.
Desirous. But desirous at the expense of others.
And in this metaphor, if I’m a pig, then the person who called me pig is the farmer. Which could mean that I, as the always-hungry pig, am sapping him dry of resources, that I am an expense.
Or it could mean that I am going to be dinner, which is also not good.
But there are other negative things in there for me. Like: [+useless] [+excessive] [+lazy] [+needy] [+only caring about self].
Also something that is small and helpless — it can’t even get what it wants but is just filled with wanting.
Oh, pain! Okay, permission for the pain to exist. Releasing old pain to the elevator shaft. Elevator shaft!
Okay, and what would my ideal translation include?
Well, if Greedy Little Piggy meant the thing that I would want someone to say about me in that situation, it would be this:
“Havi is someone who knows who she is and knows what she wants.”
There would still be desire, but it would be more about the ESSENCE of desire. Desire as a quality.
It would be about joyful pleasure and wanting what you want. And following the want, to learn about it.
Also, pigs are cute! And they enjoy being fed, and this doesn’t harm anyone.
And maybe the pigs are smart for valuing food and growth.
And also is there anything cuter than a tiny little pig in its pigness? Basking in its adorable little pig suchness?
So like that.
But!
Me: But I still feel really uncomfortable!
Slightly wiser me: Honey, you’re allowed to feel uncomfortable. It makes sense that you’d feel uncomfortable.
And here’s the thing. You don’t have to self-identify as a greedy little piggy. All we’re trying to do here is to defuse this phrase, and release the pain that’s attaching to it.
Once we clear out the phrase, you still don’t have to use it.
What if we did the thing we did with the hackers and looked for the useful inside the shadow?
Alright. When is it useful to be “greedy”?
Wanting what you want.
Knowing what that is.
Certainty.
Having desires to do beautiful things in the world.
But! But! I still don’t like this. To me, GREEDY contains [+insidious] and [+wrongdoing].
I know that we’re operating under the assumption that it could turn out there’s actually nothing negative inside of the phrase/concept Greedy Little Piggy. But I just don’t see how this can work.
I mean, to me greedy means MORE THAN YOUR SHARE. That feels like an important component to the word (for me), and I’m not willing to let that go.
Slightly wiser me: No one is going to make you let that go. If it’s important, then it’s important. Let’s investigate that.
What do I know about SHARE?
Or: what are my rules about shares of things, as related to enoughness?
Ah, this rule exists in a world of zero-sum transactions. If everyone has an equal share, then someone wanting more means others get less.
But we already know (from previous internal investigations on the topic of monies and space and time and enough), that this is not true.
We know that the things we want are self-generating and do not diminish anyone else’s supply.
So if everyone has a share, what does that mean? What IS everyone’s share?
Their share is to connect to themselves. To connect to [insert word for source or universe or presence here].
To want beauty, love, appreciation, sustainability, joy, wholeness.
So if that’s true, there is no such thing as MORE than your share, because shares are endless possibility. Share = unlimited potential. Wanting more doesn’t cut into someone else’s share because your own share of access to spiritual qualities is endless. Infinite. Like in the secret cave.
Distortions, again.
Of course!
“Greedy” is a distortion. It is the not-flattering word that is often used as a misunderstanding of things like DESIRE and PLENTY and RECEPTIVITY.
Just like how “not ambitious” can sometimes be the distortion of PATIENCE, or how “picky” is a distortion of DISCERNMENT.
But really a greedy little piggy is a creature of god, living its pig-ness, fulfilling its mission.
And my mission is to expand, create, give, grow, heal and transform. To be a very specific kind of conduit. To hold culture, and to bring magical, playful, wondrous things into the world for the benefit of everyone I encounter.
So guess what? If my pig-ness helps that mission, I will accept that pig-ness. In its pure form. Pure unadulterated desire for being myself in my me-ness.
When I do that, it doesn’t matter whether or not people have good intentions behind their words. Because I’m not going into my own distortions.
What is good about pigs?
I asked the marvelous people at Rally (Rally!) to tell me good things about pigs, and here’s what they told me.
Pigs are smart! They’re smarter than dogs.
Pigs are clean.
Pigs are kind. When you are kind to them, they are kind back.
When you are a pig, you can eat anything and be happy.
Pigs root around and make amazing gardens.
Also you can save up pennies in them for a rainy day!
Drawing by Jessica.
They also reminded me of all the pigs that are already in my life.
Like Rex! Pictured here. Photo courtesy of my phone.
And Piglet.
And Freddy the Pig! And Wilbur from Charlotte’s Web, who is not a genius like Freddy but is also a sweetheart.
And Miss Piggy! Moi?!
And all the pigs at the pub.
And then one of them gave me a piggy hat and I did a piggy dance in it and wore it to teach Shiva Nata. So there.
So I’m experimenting.
Being the most adorable desirous little piggy ever.
Wanting what I want, unapologetically. And letting that be charming and inspiring instead of having to make it something else.
In the cafe I was about to order tea. But then the piggy on my head whimpered and contradicted me, in the most adorable little voice ever: “No! No tea! A tall glass of milk!”.
So I got a tall glass of milk.
And drank it. In my pig hat. And ate my lunch for breakfast. It was exactly what I wanted.
What I would love today in the commenting blanket fort.
Do you guys know nice things about pigs?
Please no bacon-references. This is NOT an eating pig. It is me, who is also a vegetarian. And this pig thing is really important to me.
What I’m really interested in is positive pig-related things. Adorable pig photos, representations, heroic pigs, admirable pigs.
That would be lovely.
And if you want to run any internal investigations or rewrite words and phrases that need to be rewritten, you’re more than welcome to play here.
We all have our stuff. We’re all working on our stuff. We make this a safe space by owning what’s ours, and making room for people to have their own experience.
Love to all the commenter mice, the Beloved Lurkers and everyone who reads.
p.s. This coming Monday is already Rally #18. I can’t wait to find out what crazy wonderful adventures are going to happen there. And maybe I will get to see you at Rally in July?
Nothing wrong with being a greedy little piggie. I’ve been one for years, once I realized that if I didn’t ask for what I wanted nobody else was going to find it and deliver it to me.
You’re certainly entitled to identify exactly what makes you squeal with glee, what makes your little curly tail wiggle with excitement, and what makes little happy snorks come out of your cute little pink nose. And then run after whatever that is just as fast as your little hooves can carry you.
And don’t mind the mud. It washes off, easily.
I don’t have any images at hand at the moment, but I find flying pigs irresistible, and own several rubber stamps depicting them. (Also, in a magazine years ago, I saw a chalkboard diagram of an airborne pig surrounded by formulas and jottings “proving” that it was possible. It was adorable.)
Oh, and this, from Dorothy L. Sayers’s Busman’s Honeymoon (a conversation between a newly wed wife and husband, after discussing a dog and the goat on their property):
(Hi Selma!)
Happy pigs! I am thinking of how pigs are also dreamily content, by getting exactly what they want (the right place to lie down, the right bellyful of food) and then they smile. I saw some beautiful old world-looking pigs in Massachusetts once, smiling and napping in the sunshine even though it was a very cold day. They were the very essence of contentment, and at-homeness, and it made me happy just to look at them!
I also think about pigs as having tremendously sensitive, inquisite, flexible noses or snouts. All that joyful rooting around for delicious things to eat — they are very sensory creatures.
Havi,
Pigs are quite strong and you definitely need a pig to find truffles. – Even metaphorical ones!
And you probably know the phrase “Schwein gehabt” in German? It means someone got really lucky!
Warm internet hugs!
I love love love piglets! And pigs in general. It’s something about their noses. Their noses are so full of curiosity and character. See: http://www.flickr.com/photos/45562778@N02/5145776103/
ALSO, some pigs are capable of finding truffles, that most delicious and super-expensive fungus. There are so many possible metaphors here! http://www.nytimes.com/1982/03/24/garden/truffles-why-pigs-can-sniff-them-out.html
Yay, oh yay, for pigs.
Pigs in the wild are FIERCE! Champions of survival. And surprisingly staying and fit.
My absolutely favourite and most admirable piggy is Piglet. Piglet is only little, but he’s enthusiastic, funny, and very brave.
“And I know it seems easy,” said Piglet to himself, “but it isn’t everyone who could do it.”
“When you wake up in the morning, Pooh,” said Piglet at last, “what’s the first thing you say to yourself?”
“What’s for breakfast?” said Pooh. “What do you say, Piglet?”
“I say, I wonder what’s going to happen exciting today?” said Piglet.
Pooh nodded thoughtfully. “It’s the same thing,” he said.”
A.A. Milne
I want to say that comment was not nice! Even if in a perfect world it wouldn’t matter. It still feels like a shoe.
i do love the transformation.
pigs as described here & the comments remind me of what i love about cats – they are who they are. they nap when they feel like it. they eat when it’s time to eat 🙂
oh i found this picture – made me think of souvereignty boots!
http://icanhascheezburger.com/2011/08/04/funny-pictures-this-pig-is-wearing-boots/
oh cats like pigs!

There is a smiling carved pig sporting adorable wings, on a tall pole by the road in Topanga Canyon. “When pigs fly!” I chortle to myself every time I drive past. It’s the sign for some small business, I have no idea what they are exactly. It just makes me happy every time I see it.
wow, that was a shoe.
I love pigs and I have always deeply identified with Piglet, a Very Small Animal who Does a VEry Brave Thing. And makes Encouraging Noises.
Unlike other animals, Piglet does not need to make his friends Smaller so he can be Big.
Here is a video of a Very Small Pig doing Very Cute Things while running around on its tiny feets!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8JruylU429E
Hannah – that photo is so cute!
Pigs are awesome.
I’m a particular fan of PG Wodehouse’s Empress of Blandings, a local show rosette-winner who is absolutely magnificant in her appitite and girth. And who is the real love of the sweet Earl of Emsworth. (Not in an immoral way!)
I also love the pigs at this place near me, which is an open air museum, mainly of rescued and rebuilt medieval buildings. There’s a working medieval farmstead, and they always have beautiful, happy, friendly pigs and adorable little piglets. They’re just seem so happy to be themselves.
Also, this is most inspiring, as the being called a pig thing has frequently caused me pain in the past, and yet recently I’ve taken to calling myself a piglet in a way that can only be described as gleeful. Yes, I love food and I love eating! I can and I will eat that extra slice of pizza that I’m still hungry for! With zero guilt. Mwhahaha.
Oh Havi!
Thank so much for letting us witness your process: So inspirational & so helpful!
And this: “So guess what? If my pig-ness helps that mission, I will accept that pig-ness. In its pure form. Pure unadulterated desire for being myself in my me-ness.” WOW!!!
Also, from where my dad is from, pigs are supposed to expose and destroy any bad magic thrown at you. Aren’t they just amazing creatures?
And the wild ones (think Pumba, in Disney’s Lion King) are indomitable and so elegant, when they leave, with their tails high in the air…
Pigs are smart.
Pigs are adaptable.
Pigs range from the tiny and cute to the massive and fierce.
Pigs will make any environment work for them.
Pigs fight for their territory.
Pigs are clean.
Pigs are incredibly frickin’ fast.
Pigs come in many colors.
Pigs take only what they need, and make do with what they find.
Pigs can find truffles.
I would insert here a photo of the wild-boar piglets rescued by a German zoo, if my browser would let me. You never saw such a lapful of sweet furry stripey piglets. They will grow up to be ferocious tuskers, of course … which makes their stripey furriness even sweeter.
Yay Piglet! Yay wanting what you want!
When I was little I thought Miss Piggy was the most glamorous, confident woman in the world. Nothing wrong there.
And look! pages of cutie pigs!
Yes yes yes to Piglet, he was such a comfort to me when I was a kid. And how about Babe, who Achieved Great Things In Spite of Adversity by treating the sheep like his equals?
I’m enchanted by truffle pigs. To go into the forest and unearth treasures that look like nasty lumpy things is a wonderful metaphor.
And here, an excellent website:
http://thedailypiggy.tumblr.com/
Havi, sometimes I can notice myself throwing shoes when I thought I was making a joke. Thanks for reminding me that it isn’t so nice for the person hit by the shoe, even if it wasn’t intentionally unkind. My experience is that I don’t do that when I am feeling sovereign, but when I’m just a bit uncertain of myself. Which shows up as hidden resentment.
Anyway, thanks for the lovely picture of Rex, (and, everyone, for the fabulous pig pics and the video)!
And thank you, Havi, for desiring the most fabulous things, the ones that have happened, and will happen, when you are completely being yourself in your you-ness. And for making this wonderful distinction about PLENTY. Hummmmmm! <3
Another fabulous fictional pig:
Hen Wen from The Chronicles of Prydain series by Lloyd Alexander. Hen Wen is an oracular pig and she is so smart she can get out of any pen. Wisdom AND cleverness 🙂
Pigs have the most adorable little feet. When pigs are asleep laying on their sides breathing, they are incredibly cute and sweet. Pigs are inspiring, as evidenced by this poem: http://www.poetryfoundation.org/poem/171395 My mom collected images of pigs and pig statues and all kinds of pig stuff, so pigs make me think of my mom, so that makes pigs automatically awesome. Pigs make cute little sounds. Pigs rule.
Years ago I rented a farmhouse in Iowa. The farm on which this house resided was home to many pigs. There was one pig who regularly got out of the pens, and wandered the yard. When he heard someone coming up the driveway/lane, he would run out to see who was coming. I got such a kick out of our ‘watch pig’. He made me laugh and smile at a time in my life when I wasn’t doing much of either.
So yay! for pigs – in all their marvelous forms!
It strikes me that was a peculiarly sexist comment. If you’d been some 50 year old man in a boring navy suit, do you think you’d have been called names? Probably that guy would have said, respectfully, “It’s ambitious of you to want to expand your business.”
(grr. Havi is NOT greedy. She is awesome. Hmf. I suppose she does share some of the more awesome qualities of pigs though.)
i’ve been a lurker for a few months, but this one had me shaking off my mud & putting out my nuzzly muzzle!
that comment really gave me a kick to my belly! i have a great job i’m not totally in love with, but it is often insinuated i am a greedy little piggy for wanting more, despite my gratitude for what i have. your close reading of the phrase teased out lots of the implications, but you only kind of touched on the small & helpless part when there are two diminutives there, “little” and “piggy”.
Lurker Mouse Caroline (thank you!) gave me the antidote to the helpless part with piglet’s optimism about what’s going to happen exciting today. no sign of a victim’s mentality there! only a curiosity and excitement and an ability to deal with the future. BRING IT ON!
Leni touched on the small part with Piglet’s not needing to make others smaller in order to feel big. Which you do so beautifully in your blog – this takes a true trust in abundance and a respect for others (thank you!).
FINALLY, chacha became the third in the triumvirate with this: pigs find truffles! it’s only when you dig around your sh*t that you find the gold 🙂
Thank you for your examination in this post! I am so grateful to be able to witness someone else doing the peeling away and turning around work that needs to be done with words. I learn a lot from you.
And now I’m not a lurker any more!
SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!
(also, i’m pretty sure pigs say that)
Pigs save the day in one of our favorite bed-time books, Sheep in a Jeep. They are awesome, have tattoos, and help shove a Jeep out of mud when Oh, dear! The driver sheep [forgot] to steer!
And yes, wicked sexist.
OOOOH PIGS! They are the cutest!
A couple of real-life pig references:
Priscilla Noelle, who was only ten-week-old when she was rescued from the cold New York city streets and taken to Farm Sanctuary. Here are Priscilla stamps!

)
Also, a pig-dedicated retreat in the mountains of Central Virginia–I’ve wanted to go there for the longest time!

Have you seen curly pigs? Extra adorable.

Thinking about pigs reminded me of a character from the very popular Chinese story Journey to the West, Zhu Baije, whose name is often translated in English as Pigsy. He is a half-pig-half-man monster that has a lot of things we would consider bad qualities, like being a drunken lout and eating people out of house and home. But he is also very strong and can work hard when he feels like it, is one of Xuanzang’s helpers in his quest to recover the truest Buddhism for China, and his Buddhist name refers to how he knows his worth goes beyond his monstrous appearance. Overall, a good monster to befriend if you can spare the occasional tall glass of milk ;).
I love piggies! ESPECIALLY Miss Piggy. I had a huge poster of her over my bed when I was a little one.
Then I met cute piggies in real life, and they are friendly and content and also (at least at my summer camp) sometimes broke out of their area and ran around ROGUE until someone talked them back into their space. I LOVE that they went rogue (the goats and sheep whom I also loved never did that).
Yay for piggies!
So maybe I don’t know much about pigs. But I thought of hospitality when reading this post. One of my favorite writers is John Berger. This is a new favorite (which is such a wonderful kind of favorite) writer, though he himself is not “new.” He’s in his 80s.
At any rate, he’s totally a socialist. He gave half the award money he won for the Booker Prize back in the early 1970s to the Black Panthers. He left England (he’s British) for good shortly thereafter, to live amongst peasants in the French Alps. (The Alps are in France, right? Anyway. Some big mountains.) Where he now lives simply and draws and writes and has a small farm.
At ANY rate, I saw him interviewed by this fellow called Michael Silverblatt who is, like, a professional reader or something. And they were in Berger’s kitchen drinking gnole (or something) and they got to talking about hospitality.
What they agreed upon is this idea: hospitality means MORE THAN ENOUGH.
Yes. I said. Yes, yes.
I’ve been to Rally. I’ve never been to/in a more hospitable place.
One of my favorite pigs, besides Wilbur of course, is Babe the Sheep Pig. The movie isn’t bad, but the book is fantastic. Babe gets what he wants because he is so polite and caring. And courageous. And humble (some pig!). But mostly, he listens.
And some pigs find truffles… now that’s a secret pirate treasure if I ever knew one!
Oink oink 🙂
Pigs are so endearing! I think I mentioned in one of my Friday Chicken comments that I recently saw a whole trailer full of little pigs, happily eating and looking so adorable that I almost had to pull off the road while I melted.
I also like Sandra Boynton’s depiction of pigs; they are always so peaceful and contented, and yes, very wise in the way that they know just what they want. In fact, in honor of your post today, I listened to my recording of Grunt, Boynton’s wonderful album of Pigorian chant — in Pig Latin, of course! Here’s a link, if you’re interested: http://www.powells.com/biblio/1-9780761105947-11
One thing I know is that the pig is considered a Sacred Animal to Goddess. 🙂 :>
Thank you for this post, Havi. 🙂 :>
I’ve been thinking a lot on this lately as I begin to step into all that I am.
It’s definitely been a time to sit down with all of the Stuff around earning what I’m working towards being a good living.
Thank you for helping with this little part of it by sharing your Journey. : -) :>
I was going to mention the Empress of Blandings and Hen Wen but someone beat me to it (Hi, Jane. Hi,Tapley.)
So I’ll just say:
Pigs are smart.
Pigs are intrepid.
This is from Wikipedia:
In Germany, pigs are known as a symbol for good luck. Marzipan pigs are a popular confectionery, especially as a gift on New Year’s Eve.
In 1880’s New York, a tradition developed of sharing a peppermint-flavored, hard candy pig with one’s family after Christmas Dinner, with the hope that it would bring health and prosperity throughout the next year.
I thought you might enjoy this – http://victoriajamieson-illustration.blogspot.com/2012/03/national-pig-day.html?m=1 Winnie the Pow is a children’s book illustrator and she has a book she illustrated about a pig coming out soon. 🙂 (she also draws adorable comics about derby). Enjoy! Xoxo
There are two pigs in my neighborhood who appear to be very contented doing their pig-dharma, which is to say, being at peace doing what they do without the need to explain or defend themselves. They dig when they need to dig; they nap when they need to nap.
“What are their names?” I asked my husband, as I often do when we encounter random birds, lizards, insects, etc. in our daily travels. With his usual certainty, he quickly identified them as two sisters, “Chumu and Hahmi” -two Bengali words for “kiss.” (the first being a kiss you receive from a lover, and the second, a kiss you receive from a child.) Beauties, both!
@Rupa: I am smiling, and marveling, at your husband’s ready familiarity with the animals’ names.
Also: that there are multiple Bengali words for kisses is a lovely thing to learn right before bedtime. [contented sigh]
In the Chinese zodiac pigs are models of sincerity, tolerance and honour. They are very caring. They are also generous! They believe in the basic goodness of other humans. They seek peace!
Heroic pigs! Like Porco Rosso flying around the Med and saving the island from nasty invaders! http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0104652/ 😀 xoxox
pigs are earthy, low to the ground, not afraid to get dirty and roll around and love it and connect to that which gives all of us life.
and they’re friggin’ cute, and those noises they make…. i mean who doesn’t want to emulate that every once in a while!!!! it’s gutteral. life-affirming goodness….
trying to figure out how to spell out that sound….
hnaugh hnaugh hnaugh…
The first thought that popped into my head was Charlotte’s Web. Wilbur doesn’t ever change himself. He might grow and mature, but he is still 100% pig. But what he has is an Ally, one who knows about spin (literally) and how to present the greatness of the pig to the world. Wilbur was not alone. And the truth is that neither are you. (Though it feels that way sometimes when you’re facing the Big Bad Wolf.)
Then as I was reading along, I just remembered that I was born in the Chinese year of the Pig. So, yeah, I’m all about that. Cheers to all the Pigs out there. 🙂
Olivia. Some pig!
#literaryconfusion
Oh, I have SO much stuff around wanting the wants and this is so helpful and adorable, thank you!
Here we have my favourite TV presenter Kate Humble with her Kune Kune piglets. A special kind of EXTRA CUTE piglets!
http://katehumble.com/kates-kune-kune-piglets/
Havi — I love how you always look at your own stuff and this time, I really think it wasn’t the words — the person zinged you. They wanted it to hurt and it did. I love how you take care of yourself. Sometimes people say hurtful things meaning them to hurt and they do. Like a spiritual advisor of mine said though: when someone hands you a bag of stones, you don’t have to pick them up and carry them. Love and hugs,
Jess
One more literary pig reference— Lester, the Pig in Mrs. Piggle Wiggle’s books. Lester teaches children with bad table manners because his are absolutely exquisite.
I had to take a day before posting, because I was so mad and not positive and grrrrr-y.
I was thinking it over last night, and I thought little piggy, while to my mind somewhat patronizing, is also cute as all hell. Little piggies are cute!
So then it was like a comic strip in my head, or a children’s picture book.
Little Piggy is hungry. So Little Piggy eats. Because eating is what LP needs to do when she is hungry. Little Piggy needs to be healthy, and grow… but she doesn’t know this. All she knows is, she’s hungry. So she eats.
Little Piggy is unapologetic. You can throw shoes. Little Piggy is vaguely aware of you and your shoe. Shoes don’t have anything to do with being hungry or eating. Sooooo.
Little Piggy is going to take a nap in some sunshine until she’s hungry again. Little Piggy doesn’t have to explain, is not ashamed. Little Piggy is happy. Yay!
Piggies know how to enjoy good things in life, like food, naps and a hot bath 🙂

Winston Churchill once said that he liked pigs because they look upon humans as their equals, and so we can truly be friends.
At our local Ren Faire there was a petting zoo with adorable little baby piggies! I took a picture of kids petting one: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10150722296641798&set=a.10150722285891798.453901.684106797&type=3&theater
I read this post this morning and then randomly ended up at a a cute little cafe called Bourgeois Pig for lunch today! 🙂 They had delicious vegetarian sandwiches and good coffee & tea and a lovely outdoor patio which was perfect on this beautiful spring day! Yay for pigs! 🙂
Another fabulous fictional pig!
Piggie from Mo Willem’s hilarious Elephant and Piggie books. Piggie is a loyal friend. She has a wonderful imagination. She is always up for trying new things, and best of all she gets that it is having fun that matters most – not how “well” you do something.
